Jesus Saves!

If you’re new to faith or just curious about what Christians believe, you might hear us say, “Jesus saves!” But what does that really mean? Let’s take a deeper look together.

We All Need Saving

(Romans 3:23 NKJV) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

The Bible tells us we all have sinned. None of us are perfect. Our mistakes and wrong choices separate us from God, but God loves us too much to leave us that way.

II. Jesus Came to Rescue Us

(John 3:16 NKJV) “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

God sent Jesus, His Son, to bring us back to Him. Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on the cross, and He rose again, making a way for us to be saved.

Salvation Is a Gift

(Ephesians 2:8 NKJV) “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God.”

Being saved isn’t something we can earn by being good enough. It’s a free gift from God. All we have to do is believe in Jesus and receive what He has done for us.

What Happens When We Believe?

(Romans 10:9 NKJV) “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

When we put our trust in Jesus, confess Him as Lord, and believe that God raised Him from the dead, He forgives us, gives us a new heart, and promises us eternal life with Him.

Jesus Is Ready to Save You!

(Acts 2:21 NKJV) “And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

No matter where you are or what you’ve done, Jesus is ready to save you right now. All you need to do is call on Him and trust Him with your life.

Jesus saves—past, present, and future! If you want to know more or begin your journey with Him, simply talk to Him today. Ask Him to forgive you, trust Him with your heart, and let Him lead your life. You’re not alone. Welcome to God’s family!

Understanding the Holy Spirit

Who is the Holy Spirit?

When you start your walk with Jesus, you might hear people talk about the Holy Spirit. You may wonder—Who is the Holy Spirit, and why is He important in my life?

The Holy Spirit is God

(Acts 5:3-4 NKJV) “Peter said, ‘Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit... You have not lied to men but to God.’”

The Holy Spirit isn’t just a feeling or a force; He is God—just as much as the Father and Jesus the Son.

The Holy Spirit Lives With Us

(John 14:16-17 NKJV) “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth... you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

Jesus promised that after He returned to heaven, the Holy Spirit would come and live inside every believer. He is with us, always.

The Holy Spirit Guides and Teaches Us

(John 14:26 NKJV) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

The Holy Spirit is like a teacher and guide. He helps us understand the Bible, reminds us of God’s promises, and shows us the right way to live.

The Holy Spirit Gives Us Power

(Acts 1:8 NKJV) “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me...”

We don’t have to live the Christian life in our own strength. The Holy Spirit gives us the power to do what God asks and to be a bold witness for Jesus.

The Holy Spirit Changes Us

(Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control...”

As we listen to the Holy Spirit, He produces good things in us—qualities that look more like Jesus and help us love others.

The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to every believer. He is our Helper, Counselor, Teacher, and Friend. Not only does He live inside us, but He also gives us the strength and guidance we need every day. If you want to know God more deeply, invite the Holy Spirit to fill your life—you’ll never walk alone!

Why is church attendance important?

If you’re new to following Jesus, you may be wondering, “Do I really need to go to church?” Church isn’t just a building or a Sunday tradition—it’s a powerful blessing for your spiritual life!

Church Is God’s Idea

(Matthew 16:18 NKJV) “And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

Church was not man’s invention—it was Jesus who promised to build His church. It’s His plan for us to follow Him together.

We Need Each Other

(Hebrews 10:24-25 NKJV) “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another...”

Being part of a church means we encourage and strengthen each other in our faith. We all need support and friendship on our journey with Jesus.

Church Helps Us Grow

(Acts 2:42 NKJV) “And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

When we gather at church, we learn God’s Word, worship together, share communion, and pray with others. This helps our faith grow stronger.

Church Is a Place to Serve

(1 Peter 4:10 NKJV) “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

God has given each of us talents and gifts. Church gives us a place to serve others and make a difference in their lives.

Church Points Us to Jesus

(Ephesians 4:15-16 NKJV) “...may grow up in all things into Him who is the head—Christ—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together... causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

The church keeps us focused on Jesus and helps us become more like Him, together as one body.

Church isn’t just a meeting or an event—it’s a family. You belong! God uses the church to help us grow, love, and serve. If you haven’t found a home church yet, I encourage you to get connected, build strong relationships, and discover all the blessings God has in store for you there. You’ll find you’re never alone on your journey with Christ.

Why does God allow suffering?

If you’ve ever wondered why difficult things happen—even after you follow Jesus—you’re not alone. Many people ask, “Why does God allow suffering?” Let’s look at what the Bible says.

Suffering Is Part of a Broken World

(Romans 5:12 NKJV) “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—”

Suffering wasn’t part of God’s original plan. It came into the world because of sin, starting with Adam and Eve. Now, the world is broken and sometimes painful.

God Understands Our Pain

(Hebrews 4:15 NKJV) “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Jesus knows what it means to suffer. He came to earth, was rejected, hurt, and died on the cross. He understands everything we go through and cares deeply.

God Uses Suffering for Good

(Romans 8:28 NKJV) “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

God promises to bring good out of even the hardest situations. He can use our pain to make us stronger, teach us important lessons, and help us trust Him more.

Suffering Can Draw Us Closer to God

(Psalm 34:18 NKJV) “The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”

Often, in our hardest moments, we feel God’s love even more. He is with us, comforting us and helping us through every struggle.

Our Hope Is in Jesus

(Revelation 21:4 NKJV) “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”

One day, Jesus will return, and all suffering will end forever. Until then, our hope is in Him, knowing He is with us and that better days are coming.

We may not always understand why God allows suffering, but we know He loves us, walks with us, and promises to make all things new. If you’re hurting today, bring your pain to Jesus. He cares for you and will never leave you alone.

Can I really trust the Bible?

As you start your walk with Jesus, you might wonder, “Can I really trust the Bible? Is it true?” These are important questions, and God wants us to find answers in His Word.

The Bible Is God’s Word

(2 Timothy 3:16 NKJV) “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.”

The Bible wasn’t written by just human ideas or opinions—it was inspired by God Himself. Every word is trustworthy because it comes from Him.

The Bible Never Changes

(Isaiah 40:8 NKJV) “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.”

People and cultures change, but God’s Word always remains the same. What God said thousands of years ago is still true today.

The Bible Is Proven True

(Psalm 119:160 NKJV) “The entirety of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.”

History, archaeology, and fulfilled prophecies all support the accuracy of the Bible. God has shown again and again that His Word can be trusted.

The Bible Changes Lives

(Hebrews 4:12 NKJV) “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword...”

The Bible is not just an old book—it’s alive! It speaks to your heart, guides your life, and brings hope and change.

Jesus Trusted the Bible

(Matthew 4:4 NKJV) “But He answered and said, ‘It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”’”

Jesus Himself used Scripture as His guide and His weapon against temptation. If Jesus trusted the Bible, we can too!

You can trust the Bible—it is God’s truth for you! When you read it, you’re reading the very words God wants you to know. Open your heart to God’s Word, and let it speak to you every day. It will guide you, encourage you, and show you the way to live a life that pleases God.

How do I know God hears me when I pray?

When you first begin to pray, it’s normal to wonder if God is really listening. Does He notice when I talk to Him? Is He too busy or too far away? The good news is, God loves when we pray—and He is always listening!

God Promises to Hear Us

(Jeremiah 29:12 NKJV) “Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.”

God Himself says that when we pray, He hears us. His ear is always open to our voices, no matter where we are or what we’re facing.

Jesus Teaches That God Listens

(Matthew 7:7 NKJV) “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

Jesus encourages us to keep asking, seeking, and knocking because God responds to our prayers as a loving Father.

God Listens, Even When We Can’t Find Words

(Romans 8:26 NKJV) “Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

Even when we don’t have the right words, the Holy Spirit helps us pray. God understands our hearts and knows what we need.

God Hears the Prayers of the Righteous

(1 Peter 3:12 NKJV) “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their prayers...”

If you have given your life to Jesus, you are made right with God. He sees you and hears every prayer you pray.

God Responds in His Perfect Way

(1 John 5:14 NKJV) “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

God always hears us, and He answers according to His good and perfect plan. Sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no, and sometimes wait—but He is always listening.

You can be confident: God hears you every time you pray. Talk to Him honestly, knowing He loves you and cares about everything on your heart. He is never too far away, and He always listens—because you are His child!

Does God forgive me?

One of the biggest questions we have is, “Does God really forgive me?” Maybe you’ve made mistakes, or you feel like you’ve gone too far for God to accept you. The wonderful news is—God’s forgiveness is real and available to everyone!

God Promises to Forgive

(1 John 1:9 NKJV) “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

God doesn’t make it complicated. When we honestly confess our sins, He promises to forgive us and wipe our hearts clean.

God’s Forgiveness Is Complete

(Psalm 103:12 NKJV) “As far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us.”

When God forgives, He doesn’t hold onto our sins or keep reminding us about them. He erases them completely from our record.

Jesus Paid the Price

(Ephesians 1:7 NKJV) “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.”

It’s because of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross that we can be forgiven. His blood was shed so every sin—big or small—could be covered by His grace.

God Forgives Again and Again

(Matthew 18:21-22 NKJV) “Then Peter came to Him and said, ‘Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.’”

God’s forgiveness doesn’t run out. No matter how many times we mess up, when we turn to Him, He is ready to forgive.

You Can Be Sure of God’s Love

(Romans 8:1 NKJV) “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.”

If you belong to Jesus, you are not condemned. You are forgiven, loved, and accepted by God.

Yes—God really does forgive you! No sin is bigger than His grace. If you confess your heart to Him and trust in Jesus, you can live free from guilt and shame, knowing you are truly forgiven. Receive His love and walk in the freedom of His forgiveness every day.

What does God want me to do now?

God has a wonderful plan for your life, and He gives us clear direction in His Word.

Get to Know God Through His Word

(Joshua 1:8 NKJV) “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”

God wants you to spend time in the Bible. Reading His Word daily helps you grow, understand His promises, and know what pleases Him.

Talk to God in Prayer

(Philippians 4:6 NKJV) “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”

Prayer is simply talking to God. Share your heart, your dreams, and your worries with Him. He loves to listen.

Connect with Other Believers

(Hebrews 10:24-25 NKJV) “And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another...”

Being part of a church family helps you grow strong in your faith, receive encouragement, and find real community.

Obey What God Shows You

4. (James 1:22 NKJV) “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

As you read the Bible, God will show you new ways to live. Take steps to follow Him in your choices and actions.

Share Your Faith

(Matthew 28:19 NKJV) “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

God wants us to tell others about Jesus—through our words, our acts of kindness, and the way we live.

God’s direction for your new life is simple: know Him, talk with Him, walk with His people, obey Him, and share His love. Begin these steps today and watch how He leads you every day. His plan for you is full of hope, purpose, and joy!

Will God stay with me?

One of the biggest fears we can face is being left alone. You might wonder, “Will God stay with me, even when I struggle or make mistakes?” The answer found in Scripture is a loving, unshakeable yes!

God Promises to Never Leave Us

(Hebrews 13:5 NKJV) “For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”

God has promised, in His own words, that He will never abandon you. No matter what happens, He remains faithful.

God Is With Us Every Step

(Isaiah 41:10 NKJV) “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

God isn’t just with us on the good days—He walks through every challenge and hardship with us, giving strength and help.

Jesus Promised His Presence

(Matthew 28:20 NKJV) “... and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Before Jesus returned to heaven, He made this special promise: He will be with us always, right up to the end of time.

The Holy Spirit Lives In Us

(John 14:16-17 NKJV) “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth... you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.”

If you trust in Jesus, the Holy Spirit actually lives inside of you. God’s presence is with you at all times.

Nothing Can Separate Us From God’s Love

(Romans 8:38-39 NKJV) “For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come... shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

No circumstance, no mistake, and no power in this world can break God’s bond of love and presence in your life.

God’s promise is clear: He will stay with you! No matter where you go or what you face, you are never alone. Trust His Word, lean into His presence, and remember—He is with you now, and He will be with you forever.

How can I overcome temptation?

Everyone faces temptation. It’s a part of life for every believer, no matter how long you’ve walked with Christ. But the good news is—God doesn’t leave us alone in our struggle. He gives us strength and wisdom to overcome.

God Understands Our Struggles

(Hebrews 4:15 NKJV) “For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin.”

Jesus Himself faced temptation when He lived on earth. He knows what we’re going through and is ready to help.

God Makes a Way of Escape

(1 Corinthians 10:13 NKJV) “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.”

Temptation happens to everyone, but God promises two things: you’ll never face more than you can handle with His help, and He always provides an escape route.

Fill Your Heart With God’s Word

(Psalm 119:11 NKJV) “Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.”

Knowing and remembering Scripture helps us stand strong when temptation comes. When Jesus was tempted, He answered every time with God’s Word.

Pray for Strength

(Matthew 26:41 NKJV) “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Prayer strengthens us in weak moments. Ask God every day to help you recognize and resist temptation.

Choose Good Company

(Proverbs 13:20 NKJV) “He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will be destroyed.”

The people we spend time with influence us. Surround yourself with other believers who encourage you to live for Jesus and make good choices.

Temptation is real, but victory is possible! With Jesus on your side, the Word in your heart, prayer on your lips, and supportive friends around you, you can overcome every challenge. Remember, God is faithful. When you fall, don’t give up—run back to Him, receive His forgiveness, and keep going strong!

Who is Jesus?

If you are new to church, you’ve probably heard a lot about Jesus. But who is He really, and why is He so important for your life today?

Jesus is the Son of God

(Matthew 16:16 NKJV) “Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’”

Jesus is not just a good teacher or a prophet—He is the Son of God. He came from heaven to earth to show us who God is and what He’s like.

Jesus is Our Savior

(John 1:29 NKJV) “The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, ‘Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!’”

Jesus came to rescue us from sin. He died on the cross and rose again so that every person could be forgiven and have a new start.

Jesus Shows God’s Love to Us

(Romans 5:8 NKJV) “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Jesus’ whole life—His words, His actions, His sacrifice—shows just how much God loves us, even when we didn’t deserve it.

Jesus is Alive Today

(Revelation 1:18 NKJV) “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.”

After He died, Jesus rose from the dead. He is alive forever, and He has power over death and the grave.

Jesus Wants a Relationship With You

(John 14:6 NKJV) “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”

Jesus isn’t just a figure from history—He wants to know you personally. He invites you to follow Him and live with the hope, peace, and purpose only He can give.

Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the proof of God’s love, and our Living Lord. He came for you and invites you to know Him, trust Him, and follow Him every day. If you want to know more, simply call on the name of Jesus—He’s waiting to welcome you with open arms.

What is repentance?

If you’ve spent any time around church, you’ve probably heard the word “repentance.” But what does it really mean, and why is it so important in your walk with Jesus?

Repentance Means Turning Away From Sin

(Acts 3:19 NKJV) “Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord.”

Repentance begins with a decision—a change of mind and heart. It means recognizing when we have sinned, being truly sorry, and choosing to turn away from those things that displease God.

Repentance Means Turning Toward God

(Isaiah 55:7 NKJV) “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, and He will have mercy on him; and to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.”

True repentance isn’t just about what we leave behind—it’s about who we turn toward. We turn to God, receive His mercy, and start living His way instead of our own.

Repentance Brings Forgiveness and New Life

(1 John 1:9 NKJV) “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

God’s promise is simple: if you come to Him with a sincere heart and admit your sins, He will forgive you completely. Repentance is the doorway to a fresh start.

Repentance is a Lifestyle, Not Just a Moment

(Luke 9:23 NKJV) “Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.’”

Repentance isn’t just for the beginning of your faith journey. Following Jesus means choosing every day to turn away from sin, ask for forgiveness, and walk in God’s ways.

Repentance means turning away from sin and turning towards God. It’s not about shame or condemnation, but about receiving God’s mercy, forgiveness, and a brand-new start. Whenever you realize you’ve fallen short, come to Jesus—He’s ready to forgive and help you grow.

How can I become a Godly man?

There’s a story from the early days of the gold rush. Men flooded the rivers and mountains, convinced they would strike it rich. Some found just a few flakes and gave up. Others pressed on, sifting, searching, committed to finding something more valuable than gold, purpose, identity, and meaning. In our time, the “gold rush” isn’t in the rivers; it’s in the search for what it means to be a Godly man.

Let’s be honest, sometimes, being a man today feels like you’re panning for gold in muddy water. The world gives us fifty shades of confusion about manhood. But God’s Word is crystal clear. You don’t have to apologize for being a man or scramble to fit into every cultural expectation. God’s call to you is simple, challenging, and empowering. Becoming a Godly man isn’t about being perfect, it’s about walking daily in God’s direction.

One of my favorite quotes is from A.W. Tozer: “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Gentlemen, how you view God and how you respond to His call, shapes the way you live, love, and lead.

Today, I want to offer you three practical, biblical steps that every man can take to live out Godly manhood. If you’re a husband, a father, a friend, or simply a man seeking God’s best, this message is for you.

I. Seek God Daily

“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NKJV)

It all begins here: seeking God. Every day is a new opportunity to draw closer to Him. Let’s be real; the world is full of distractions. From the moment you wake up, your phone buzzes, your calendar fills up, your responsibilities shout for attention. But Jesus gives us a simple priority: seek God first.

What does that look like? It’s not about checking a box or impressing others with outward religion. It’s about putting God at the center of your heart and your life. Start your day with prayer—even just a few moments alone with the Lord can shape your attitude, humble your heart, and set your path straight. Open your Bible—whether it’s one verse or one chapter. Let His truth renew your mind and reorder your life.

Think of your life like the GPS in your car. If you want to reach your destination, you need to set the right coordinates. God’s Word is the map, and prayer is the communication line to the ultimate Navigator. Without those, you’ll drive in circles, lose your way, or wind up somewhere you never intended.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” (Psalm 119:105 NKJV)

Consider Daniel. In a hostile land, with pressure to compromise at every turn, Daniel “got down on his knees three times a day, and prayed” (Daniel 6:10 NKJV). He made seeking God his daily habit, no matter what others thought.

Question: What’s the first thing you reach for in the morning—your phone or your Bible? What if you reversed that and let the Spirit set your agenda?

II. Lead with Love and Integrity

“He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8 NKJV)

Being a man isn’t about being the loudest or the toughest—it’s about leading with love and integrity. The world desperately needs men whose actions line up with their words, whose strength is wrapped in kindness, and whose hearts reflect the humility of Christ.

I remember a man in our church, let’s call him Brother John. He wasn’t the most charismatic, but his integrity was undeniable. He showed up whenever someone needed help—quietly, faithfully. His children grew up seeing that love and honesty matter more than worldly success. His neighbors knew he was a Christian by how he treated them, not just by what he said. That’s the kind of legacy that outlives flashy achievements.

Micah 6:8 is a blueprint for daily living:

- Do justly: Stand up for what’s right, even if it costs you.

- Love mercy: Forgive quickly and generously.

- Walk humbly: Remember, all you have comes from the Lord.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:16 NKJV)

Question: When your family, your coworkers, or your friends think of you, what do they remember—your position or your character? Are you leaving a legacy of love and integrity?

Someone once said, “Integrity is doing the right thing, even when no one is watching. Which is great, unless you’re sneaking a cookie before dinner and your wife walks in!”

III. Stand Firm in Faith

“Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.” (1 Corinthians 16:13 NKJV)

If there’s ever been a time for men of faith to stand tall, it’s now. The values and beliefs we hold dear are often under fire—at work, in media, sometimes even at family gatherings. But God’s Word tells us not to compromise. To be a Godly man is to be courageous, to stand on the rock of Christ when the world tries to knock us down.

Think of an ancient oak tree—roots deep, branches spread. Storms may batter it, winds may howl, but it stands firm because of what’s beneath the surface. Our faith in Jesus is our root system. The deeper our faith, the stronger we stand.

It’s easy to go with the flow, to say what’s popular, to hide your faith when it isn’t convenient. But the world is desperate for men who refuse to bend to every wind of culture—men who shine light when the darkness is growing deeper.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV)

Question: When the pressures of life mount and tempt you to compromise, what do you hold onto? Are you standing firm in your faith or shifting with the crowd?

Men of God, hear this: Becoming a Godly man isn’t a one-time achievement—it’s a daily choice. The gold isn’t found by dabbling; it’s found by seeking, leading, and standing. You’re not perfect—and that’s not what God asks of you. He asks for progress, for pursuit, for a heart surrendered to Him.

The world needs more than “good men”—it needs Godly men. Men who love deeply, serve humbly, and stand firmly for the Savior who stood for them.

What is salvation?

Salvation stands at the very heart of the Christian faith. It is not something we earn, but a priceless gift given to us by God thanks to His incredible love.

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV)

This means we cannot earn our way to heaven by good deeds or a perfect record—salvation is all about accepting what Jesus has already purchased for us on the cross.

But what does it mean to be saved? It means God, through the sacrifice and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ, forgives our sins, transforms our hearts, and brings us into His family. He makes us spiritually alive, giving us purpose in this life and the hope of eternal life to come.

“Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13 NKJV)

When we put our faith in Jesus, turning from our old ways and committing our lives to Him, a miracle takes place—we become “new creations” and begin a lifelong relationship with God (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).

Friend, if you’ve never experienced that miracle, today is a great day to open your heart to Jesus. He loves you, He paid the price for your sins, and His arms are open wide.

Can you backslide or turn away from God?

Can You Backslide?

The question of whether a believer can "lose their way"—or backslide—is often asked, especially when we see others who started out strong in faith but gradually drift away. The Bible is honest about this possibility.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons” (1 Timothy 4:1 NKJV).

Clearly, God’s Word warns that some may wander away from the faith they once professed. But it doesn't stop there, the Bible also reveals God’s heart for the backslider: a heart filled with mercy and restoration.

“Brethren, if anyone among you wanders from the truth, and someone turns him back, let him know that he who turns a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death and cover a multitude of sins.” (James 5:19-20 NKJV)

God desires to forgive, restore, and renew anyone who has fallen away, if only they will return to Him.

If you've found yourself slipping, don't despair! God is always one prayer away. His grace is more than enough to restore you, to wash you clean, and to plant your feet firmly on the path of life once again.

Is praying the salvation prayer enough?

At many altars and church gatherings, people are encouraged to pray a "salvation prayer"—an invitation for Jesus to become Lord and Savior. This is a beautiful, essential step! But the New Testament is clear: true salvation is not just repeating words, but experiencing a heart transformation followed by a life that bears fruit.

"If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth." (1 John 1:6 NKJV)

Just saying the words is not enough if they aren’t followed by a real turning away from sin and a commitment to follow Christ.

"Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance." (Matthew 3:8 NKJV)

True repentance turns our life in a new direction, showing the world—and ourselves—that Jesus truly leads our lives.

"He who endures to the end shall be saved." (Matthew 24:13 NKJV)

That means faith is not a one-time moment, but an enduring journey. We are called to walk with Him, continually growing, learning, loving, and serving. God’s grace gives us both a new beginning and the power to persevere.

Living for Jesus is evidence of salvation lesson

What does it look like when someone belongs to Jesus? The Bible says their life will be changed from the inside out.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV)

God’s Spirit works in the heart of every true believer to reshape desires, habits, and relationships. This doesn’t mean Christians are perfect—far from it! But the trajectory of our lives changes. We grow in our love for God and others. We hunger for His Word. We care about holiness, justice, and mercy. James puts it this way: "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves." (James 1:22 NKJV) The difference is not in just hearing about Jesus, but in letting His life and teachings actually transform our lives.

So let’s not settle for mere words or outward religion. Let’s ask Jesus to truly live in us, empower us, and use us for His glory—so that the world can see what He has done!
